Apostilles and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office - ‘legalisation’
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has suspended the apostille services at both the London and Milton Keynes branches, except in cases of genuine emergency. If you require an emergency apostille, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
with subject ‘emergency apostille’. Will continue to post updates regarding the apostille services and consular legalisations on our website.
We have a large network of carefully curated, highly experienced translators who are all able to work remotely. We continue to coordinate translations as normal as this aspect of our business is unaffected. If you require a translation, please get in touch with us at email@example.com
, or firstname.lastname@example.org
and we would be delighted to help.
Remote notarisation and e-signatures
We have received queries regarding signing documents in a notary’s presence via video link. Whilst this is currently not permitted under the rules which govern notarial practice in England and Wales, this may change in the current climate. We have also received several queries regarding the validity of electronic signatures on digital documents. Currently, whether a copy or an electronic signature will be accepted in lieu of a wet ink signature largely depends on the end-user and the jurisdiction in which a document will be used. We will continue to post updates regarding remote notarisation, wet ink requirements, and e-signatures.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
In the meantime, we wish you and your families good health and wellbeing over the next few weeks.
