General Notary/ Scrivener Notary

Imison & Co is a leading firm of Scrivener notaries based in the City of London and is only the second new firm of Scrivener notaries to be established and practising within the last 200 years.
Scrivener Notaries are notaries who undergo a supplementary three years of training including a year which is spent abroad. Scrivener notaries must be highly proficient in at least one foreign language and be familiar with the principles and practice of another foreign jurisdiction. Upon qualification as a scrivener it is usual practice to be made a partner within a couple of years.

Imison & Co provide a wide range of specialist cross-border notarial, legal and translation services and we are currently looking to expand. In doing so we are hoping to recruit someone with drive, eager to reach the top of their profession. The firm existed for four years and the position therefore not only represents the chance to work in a high-pressured and varied City legal environment but also to be actively involved with the everyday running and expansion of a growing business. Client skills and business awareness are therefore also essential for any candidate to have and any successful applicant will be given a high level of responsibility from the start.

We are looking for candidates who have a strong academic record, both at university and on the notarial practice course. Candidates must have fluency in another language other than English to a high standard. Salaries are competitive and continue to rise steadily until partnership.

Trainee Notary

Imison & Co provide a wide range of specialist cross-border notarial, legal and translation services and we are currently looking to expand. In doing so we are hoping to recruit a graduate with a mix of both a legal and languages background. The position therefore not only represents the chance to work in a high pressured and varied City legal environment but also to be actively involved with the everyday running and expansion of an establishing business. We provide hands-on-training and experience in a dynamic environment in which client skills and business awareness are essential.

We are looking for candidates who have obtained, or are on course for, at least a 2:1 degree award. Candidates must have at least one other European language (in particular one of Spanish, German, Portuguese or Italian) to a high standard. Applicants must be able to work accurately under pressure to strict deadlines and possess sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point.
